Berlin is a great place to shop and is home to numerous boutiques, department stores, specialist shops and markets selling almost everything imaginable.

Shopping: Where to Shop in Berlin

Many elegant fashion boutiques can be found in the area around Kurfürstendamm, while the nearby famous department store of Kaufhaus des Westens, known as KaDeWe, is well worth a look. Other notable shopping areas include Friedrichstrasse and Potsdamer Platz.

Two other busy areas are; Charlottenburg, with its trendy boutiques and fashion outlets and Friedrichstrasse near the Brandeburg Gate which has some very elegant shops but is also a good place to pick up souvenirs.

A number of lively markets can be found throughout Berlin. The popular Kunst und Nostalgiemarkt specialises in arts, crafts and collectibles, while many bargains can be found at the Boghagener Platz flea market.
